Technical Support Engineer

Our client is a leading supplier of IT applications to the early development healthcare market delivering compelling solutions for data collection, management and analysis across the R&D continuum. About the position

The opening is located in Conshohocken PA. The successful candidate will be required to travel international offices as necessary.

Job Description

Main Responsibilities:

•Responding to and logging of support calls related to our client’s products
•Provision of advice and assistance relating to products and services
•Raising / handling of faults as appropriate
•Reproduction and appropriate documentation of reported faults
•Reporting to customer on progress and resolution
•Provision of support / advice at customer sites
•Conduct of activities in accordance with the relevant Quality procedures
•Correction of problems relating to database definitions or relationships
•Liaison and consultation with other departments
•Provision of technical advice/solution design to the hosting manager
•Provision of technical support to the Helpdesk for hosting and support calls
•Working closely with our datacenter vendor on support and maintenance activities

Skills/ Experience:

•Team player – ability to share & discuss problems with peers
•Willing to undertake national and international travel to customer sites if requested
•Good communication (oral and written), organizational and problem solving skills
•Ability to prioritize and stay calm under pressure
•Ability to be effective with little to no supervision and working remotely on site
•Oracle 10/11 database client and server experience – planning, installation, configuration and use of SQL is preferred
•Windows administration including: Active Directory, Group Policies, Application management
•Network concepts including: DNS, LAN, WAN, VPN, TCP-IP, Firewalls
•Design, implementation and deployment of applications in a Windows Terminal Server (2003/2008) with the use of Citrix (XenApp 6.5) solutions. Experience with Web Interface/Citrix Secure Gateway a plus.

Qualifications

•Ideally educated to a Degree in Computing
